Disability Union Participates in “Accessibilities' Expo 2025,” Reaffirming
Its Commitment to Empowering Persons with Disabilities Globally
Dubai –
The World Disability Union (WDU) participated in the 7th
edition of the “Accessibilities' Expo 2025”, held at the Dubai
World Trade Centre, with broad participation from local and
international organizations dedicated to supporting and empowering persons with
disabilities.
The WDU delegation was led by H.E. Dr.
Tarek Sultan Bin Khadem, First Vice President of the World Disability
Union, and Mr. Heidar Talleb Arabeh Secretary-General of the Union. Both emphasized the
importance of this international event in fostering communication and the
exchange of expertise among organizations working in the disability field, as
well as showcasing key initiatives that contribute to building more inclusive
and equitable societies.
The Union’s participation reflects its ongoing
efforts to support and empower persons with disabilities through innovative
initiatives and impactful projects that enhance quality of life and
promote active participation in sustainable development.
During the event, the WDU also highlighted its
preparations for the Second World Summit on Social Development,
which will be held in Qatar from November 4–6, 2025. The
summit will serve as a global platform for discussing policies and strategies
aimed at achieving comprehensive social development.
H.E. Dr. Tarek Sultan Bin Khadem affirmed that
the Union’s participation in “Accessibilities' Expo” aligns with the vision
of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE
Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, a long-standing advocate
for persons with disabilities. He noted that the Union continues to uphold this
humanitarian vision, striving to strengthen the principles of social
justice, equality, and equal opportunities for persons with
disabilities worldwide.
For his part, Mr. Heidar Talleb Arabeh Secretary-General
stated that the expo provides an important opportunity to showcase the Union’s
pioneering initiatives and experiences in the disability sector. He reaffirmed
the Union’s commitment to building regional and international
partnerships to advance the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) and promote equality and social inclusion.
The Accessibilities' Expo is
recognized as a leading global platform that brings together
government bodies, private sector entities, and nonprofit organizations to
exchange knowledge and showcase the latest technologies and solutions that
empower persons with disabilities and advance the vision of inclusive
societies.
