World Disabled Union (WDU) Participates in COSP19 at the
United Nations
As part of the activities of the
19th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities (COSP19), held at the United Nations Headquarters, the World
Disabled Union (WDU) participated with an official delegation consisting of the
President of the Union, Mr. Metin Senturk, and the Union’s Legal Advisor, Mr.
Cihangir Karabiyik and Mr. Rizwan Ahmed Lodhi Board member of World Disabled

As part of the activities of the 19th Conference of States
Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP19),
held at the United Nations Headquarters, the World Disabled Union (WDU)
participated with an official delegation consisting of the President of the
Union, Mr. Metin Senturk, and the Union’s Legal Advisor, Mr. Cihangir Karabiyik
and Mr. Rizwan Ahmed Lodhi Board member
The WDU delegation attended the opening ceremony and participated
in several accompanying events and meetings focused on disability rights,
accessibility, and inclusion.
During the conference, Mr. Metin Senturk delivered a speech
highlighting the important role of the World Disabled Union in promoting the
inclusion of persons with disabilities within societies. He explained the
Union’s initiatives in issuing WDU certifications for disability-friendly
facilities and accessible cities, which encourage governments and institutions
to accelerate environmental accessibility and urban adaptation efforts.
Mr. Senturk also presented an overview of the Union’s
ongoing activities, including awareness lectures, educational workshops, and
specialized training programs aimed at improving understanding and interaction
with persons with disabilities in all circumstances.
At the conclusion of his speech, he called upon governments
and international organizations to intensify efforts toward creating fully
accessible environments and infrastructures that guarantee equality, dignity,
and social inclusion for persons with disabilities worldwide.
